PARIS—Gerard Poirot, a correspondent for Fabrics & Furnishings International, passed away suddenly Sept.  10.
He was born in Lorraine, France, in 1952.
He will be remembered by his F&FI colleagues for his passion for food and wine, often sharing his favorite finds on business trips. He also wrote restaurant reviews and was well-known among the gourmet-food crowd.
Poirot wrote about the fabric business for F&FI, such as this front-page story in the spring, 2019 edition: “Deco Off Paris Hits Record.â€
He is survived by two daughters, Charlotte and Julie.
After a church ceremony, a gathering will be held to honor him at the home of Charlotte and Mathieu de Morais in Brossolette à Joinville-le-Pont. Â
