Fabric Industry Great, Paul Bosworth, 75

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — Paul Bosworth, aged 75, passed away here from the effects of dementia on August 6, 2024.

Bosworth was born on February 9, 1949, in Burlington, Vermont. His career was marked by significant leadership roles, including serving as President of Lee Jofa in Long Island from 2000–2009.

“The Kravet family (Lee Jofa owners) meant the world to him,” says his wife, Cathy, “and he continued the friendship with the Kravets—Lisa, Cary, Scott, and Ellen—all through the years.”

“Paul was a great guy,” Cary Kravet, President of Kravet, says. “He was hired by my family as brand manager to manage the companies represented by Lee Jofa. He then rose to become the president of Lee Jofa. He was a passionate and tireless president during a period of growth and brand development. His vision was high-end, yet his approach was conducted with humility. He enhanced our company with dignity and positive energy. His love of our industry ran deep, but it did not compare to his love for his family.”

“Paul was unable to work… but he was still striving to start up something here as President of Bosworth Enterprises,” his wife Cathy tells F&FI.

“His time at Thibaut as Vice President, Sales (2014–2020) was filled with wonderful employees who contacted him frequently about how things changed after his departure,” she adds.

Bosworth began his career in New York at Schumacher as National Contract Sales Manager, progressing through various positions across the USA from 1977–1986; Vice President, Sales & Marketing for S. Harris & Co., Los Angeles, 1986–1991; Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Sanderson North American Division, 1991–1994; President, Walker Greenbank PLC, UK — North American Division, 1994–2000. He was also founder and President of Sterling & Knight in Keene, New Hampshire, from 2009–2014.

He was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Business, a veteran of the Army during the Vietnam War, and an active member of the Jewish community.

A previous report notes he was an avid long-distance runner and a lover of history, politics, and nature. His hobbies included savoring fine wine and port, and he cherished spending vacations with his family at the beach or in the mountains. His love for old homes complemented his wife Cathy’s passion for renovations.

He leaves behind his wife, his daughter Sara Bosworth Osetek, and his three sons, Ross, Chase, and Max Bosworth.
